Zein Ali: I'm traveling everywhere to show the real image of China

Zein Ali, Wang Zhongxu in Chinese, is a content creator and internet celebrity who enjoys a lot of fans and followers. He is currently travelling around China shooting videos and making vlogs, telling people how beautiful China is.

Born in Damascus, Syria, Zein came to China in 2010 because of the unique feelings his family holds for China. Having acquired his bachelor, master, and PhD degrees here in China, Zein welcomed the company of his family: his parents, his triplet brother Ali and triplet sister Zaynab.

His father, an artist, held an art exhibition during his stay in China to showcase Syrian culture, and the similarities between Syrian culture and Chinese culture. Zaynab, like Zein, went to Nanjing University of the Arts for further study. Ali made a documentary about his family's adventure called A Dream Comes True. It explains how his mother had this dream of coming to China during pregnancy more than 20 years ago, and how they're really in China today experiencing the fast development of China and the hospitality of Chinese people. 

Having the special bond with China, Zein and his family makes it their responsibility to help those in need. Zein donated during the pandemic without leaving his name, and in 2023, when Gansu province was hit by an earthquake, he flew there immediately and volunteered to help. "We weren't having the big amount or anything, but we just wanted to do something," Zein said.

Of his 14 years in China, Zein spent more than nine years in Nanjing. Here, he has happy campus hours, good friends, a girlfriend, and the meaningful Chinese name given by his girlfriend's grandpa. During the event, "Impressions of China", Zein submitted two videos to show people his love for Nanjing, and to tell people how amazing the city is. One is about the fast-developing Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, and the other is about the digital art exhibition - Jinling Map in Deji Art Museum.

As his Chinese name, Wang Zhongxu, suggests, Zein plans to stay as a bridge between China and Syria to promote cultural exchanges, and to make more videos about more places in China.
