24th Xuyi Crayfish Festival opens
The annual Xuyi Crayfish Festival opened Wednesday morning in Xuyi County, east China's Jiangsu province.

Over 600 people from Xuyi organized a tour parade to celebrate the opening of the Xuyi Crayfish Festival. In the cheerful music, the performers interacted with the onlookers, allowing everyone to experience a different festive atmosphere.
Xue Ming, a tourist said that she watched folk performances and intangible cultural heritage, which was very interesting. She took videos and photos and sent them to her WeChat Moments, allowing more people to experience their folk culture and share joy.
This year's crayfish festival will continue until August. Large-scale cultural and artistic performances, ten-thousand crayfish banquets, and the national food consumption season will be held, feasting tourists with a rich experience.
At the opening ceremony, the China Brand Building Promotion Association announced that the brand strength of Xuyi crayfish was 910, ranking first in the geographical indication aquaculture category on the regional public brand list for 9 consecutive years.

In 2023, Xuyi recorded a total output value of 30.6 billion yuan in its crayfish industry, with nearly 200 thousand workers engaged in crayfish related industries, accounting for a quarter of the county's population.
