Jiangsu reports sustained growth in port throughput
Ports in Jiangsu province have accelerated the digital, intelligent, and green transformation and upgrading in a bid to improve logistics efficiency and enhancing their competitiveness.
The Lianyungang International Automobile Green Intelligent Logistics Center in the Lianyungang Sub-Zone of the Jiangsu Free Trade Zone has recently passed the acceptance inspection, becoming the first automobile logistics center in the country's port industry to achieve zero carbon emissions.
In the five story three-dimensional parking building, AGV robots guided by laser navigation and ground QR codes are kept bus calculating by referring to the information such as the vehicle's exit destination, loading time, and car brand. A single access vehicle can achieve 260 trips per hour, saving about two days from traditional backup processes. The inventory of logistics centers has increased by 2.5 times from traditional three-dimensional garages, and by nine times from traditional ground storage yards in ports.
According to Liu Qiang, Director of Investment and Development Department of Lianyungang Port Co., Ltd., after nearly six months of debugging, they have received 52,000 trains in and out, and their overall production capacity has exceeded 30% of the design capacity.
Jiangyin Port has recently been included in the first batch of zero carbon pilot projects for typical highway and waterway transportation and facilities by the Ministry of Transport. Based on the three paths of improving green electricity supply by strengthening electricity and clean energy substitution, and strengthening pollution prevention and smart energy management, this project will create a model for new energy, clean energy, and smart energy use in ports. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 35,732 tons, a decrease of 82% from the period before the implementation.
The Taixing Port Area of Taizhou Port has relied on digital twin technology to comprehensively display operation scheduling information, equipment operation status, resource distribution, and dynamic warning and disposal, achieving visual intelligent scheduling and procedural emergency command and comprehensively improving port management and operational efficiency.
