Cheers, Cheers! Have you seen a beer festival like this?

Recently, the inJiangsu reporter delved into the Sino-German Culture and Sports Night at the Taicang Rothenburg 19th Oktoberfest and experienced the unique aspects of this popular annual event. Not just an average beer festival, Oktoberfest has a history of over 200 years in Germany. As the renowned "Home of German Enterprises", Taicang, a county-level city in Jiangsu has attracted more than 500 German companies. Combining authentic Bavarian flair with distinct Taicang characteristics, the Taicang Oktoberfest has become part of the city's identity. 

Douyin blogger LEA, intrigued by what she had heard, visited the event for the first time. She told the inJiangsu reporter, "This event is big. It's actully the same with the Munich Beer Festival."

Mr. Christian Sommer, Chairman of the Taicang German Centre, is an old friend here. As a "heavy supporter", he told the reporter about the origin of this event. From his perspective recent years the Taicang Oktoberfest is more and more international and inclusive.

This year's Taicang Oktoberfest, running from August 8 to 16 features plenty of events. On this night is the "Sino-German Culture and Sports Night", showcasing cultural exchanges, including table tennis, soccer, a marathon, and art.

At a flag handover ceremony, Mr. Sommer accepted the banner of China-Germany Friendship Cup Table Tennis Tournament from a Taicang representative. This year, he will take this sporting event to Hamburg.
