Jiangsu posts import, export growth momentum in first 8 months
Jiangsu province recorded 3.65 trillion yuan in its total import and export of goods in the first eight months of this year, up 8.5% year-on-year, which is 2.5 percentage points higher than the national growth rate and accounts for 12.8% of the national import and export value during the same period, statistics from the Nanjing Customs show.

In the first eight months, Jiangsu recorded 1.6 trillion yuan in its exports of mechanical and electrical products, up 10.4% year on year, accounting for 68.3% of the province's total export value and stimulating the province's export growth rate by seven percentage points. The exports of computers and their components, mobile phones, ships, and automotive parts increased by 5.3%, 37.1%, 75.1%, and 10.4% respectively.
Jiangsu maintained import and export momentum with major trading partners, while continuously expanding into emerging markets and optimizing its international market layout with close regional cooperation and diversified progress.

In the first eight months, the province recorded 1.61 trillion yuan of import and export to the "Belt and Road" countries, an increase of 12.3%, stimulating the growth of the province's import and export by 5.3 percentage points and accounting for 44.2% of the provincial total. In the meantime, the province recorded 569.01 billion yuan and 366.75 billion yuan in its imports and exports to ASEAN and South Korea, an increase of 10.5% and 13.9% respectively.
