Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, met Monday in Nanjing with Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, Xin Changxing extended his warm welcome to President Mnangagwa for his visit to Jiangsu, adding that he is pleased that His Excellency the President is visiting Jiangsu again as China and Zimbabwe are good friends, partners, and brothers.

The Provincial Party chief said Jiangsu is making every effort to promote high-quality development, accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, and promote the momentum of economic and social development.

He said that over the years, Jiangsu has forged close and fruitful cooperation with Zimbabwe. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, Jiangsu will promote friendly traditions, further strengthen people-to-people exchanges with Zimbabwe, expand economic and trade cooperation, continuously deepen cultural exchanges, and make greater contributions to the high-quality development of China-Zimbabwe relations.

Mnangagwa said that he is pleased to visit Nanjing again 60 years later with a feeling of returning home as the experience of studying here is still fresh in his memory. Zimbabwe's development is inseparable from the support and assistance from China, and Jiangsu has made significant contributions in particular. Zimbabwe fully supports the "Belt and Road" initiative proposed by China and the cooperation measures under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and hopes to better learn from China's experience in promoting modernization and expand practical cooperation between the two sides in various fields. He expects that more Jiangsu enterprises will invest in Zimbabwe to achieve win-win development.
