Jiangsu marks 79th anniversary of China's victory in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression

Jiangsu marked on Tuesday the 79th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. 

On Tuesday morning, representatives of young students, descendants of Nanjing Massacre survivors, and representatives of Zijin Grass volunteers gathered at the Victory Square of the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders. The young trumpet player sounded the victory horn, and the Zijin Grass Children's Choir sang anti-Japanese war songs, inspiring people to remember history.

Zhang Chenxi, a fourth-grade student at the First Experimental Primary School of Nanjing Xiaozhuang College, expressed that people should pay tribute to the martyrs and the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the victory of the war. They should remember history and study hard. 

Cao Yuli, descendant of Zhang Cuiying who's a survivor of the Nanjing Massacre, shared that as inheritors of the memory of the Nanjing Massacre, people must educate the future generations not to forget history and strengthen our country on the basis of historical inheritance.

At the Qingkou Eighteen Warriors Memorial Hall in Lianyungang city, representatives of party members, retired soldiers, teachers, students, and citizens jointly paid tribute to the martyrs' tombstones, presented flowers, and expressed their grief. 

At the Liu Laozhuang 82 Martyrs Cemetery in Huai'an city and the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall in Yancheng city, children lined up and paid solemn respects.

Ji Qin, a teacher of Laozhuang Company Red Army Primary School, was quoted that she hopes the children will remember this period of history, pay tribute to the revolutionary martyrs, cherish the hard-won peaceful life, inherit and carry forward the spirit of resistance in future learning and life, and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Song Yu, a tour guide at the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall, shared that the spirit of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression embodies the bravery and resilience of countless martyrs, teaching us to persevere in the face of difficulties and inspiring each and every one to contribute to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The US Flying Tigers delegation, composed of members of the US China Aviation Heritage Foundation and descendants of Flying Tigers veterans, visited Nanjing to reminisce about the friendship between the Chinese and American military and civilians fighting side by side in the war of resistance against Japanese aggression. Nanjing Jinling High School and Nanjing Normal University Affiliated High School twinned a friendship school with an American high school in honor of the Flying Tigers.
