The 3rd Session of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee kicks off

The Third Session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in Jiangsu Great Hall on Saturday. More than 700 members of the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee from 31 sectors gathered in Nanjing. During the four-day session, they will offer a wide range of suggestions and contribute their wisdom and strength to promoting the construction of Chinese path to modernization in Jiangsu.

Xin Changxing, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, delivered a speech, and Yang Yue, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee presided over the meeting. On behalf of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Xin extended warm congratulations on the opening of the Third Session of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and sincere greetings to all CPPCC members. He said that over the past year, the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee has given full play to the role of a specialized consultative body, carried out precise work, held practical discussions, and achieved remarkable results, demonstrating new contributions to the construction of Chinese path to modernization in Jiangsu. 2025 is the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and we should act with determination and make every effort to achieve all goals and tasks, strive to create more advantages in key areas, and make greater contribution to the overall development of the nation.

Zhang Yizhen, Chairperson of CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee. According to the report, 2024 was a year of great significance in the history of the CPPCC. The CPC Central Committee and the CPPCC National Committee held a conference to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the CPPCC. And in 2025, the final year to achieve the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee should fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, thoroughly practice people's democracy throughout the process, improve the levels of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in the deliberation and administration of state affairs, strengthen ideological and political guidance, actively offer comments and suggestions on governance, build consensus, pool wisdom, and gather strength for further deepening reform in all respects to take the lead and set an example in promoting the construction of Chinese path to modernization.

Schedules for the 3rd Session of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee

1. Hear and discuss the speech delivered by Xin Changxing, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

2. Hear and deliberate the work report of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

3. Hear and deliberate the report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee on the work of proposals since the second session.

4. Sit in on the Third Session of the 14th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress as non-voting participants, hear and discuss the Work Report of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and other relevant reports.

5. Election.

6. Deliberate the resolution of the Third Session of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

7. Deliberate the report on the Examination of Proposals at the Third Session by the Proposal Committee of the 13th CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
