Nantong: creating important growth pole for high-quality development

In 2024, Nantong made full use of the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. The economic operation was stable and progressing, the cross-river integration was deeply promoted, the innovation vitality was effectively stimulated, and the development momentum continuously accumulated.

According to Qiu Ming, General Manager of Qidong COSCO Shipping Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., in 2024, the company focused on FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units), wind farm installation vessels, and other high-end offshore engineering equipment markets. They comprehensively enhanced the one-stop construction capabilities, including design, building, final assembly, and commissioning. Currently, they could design and build offshore products suitable for use in any sea area around the world, and the achievements thanks to a well-established cluster of supporting industries in which they can find 90% of the supporting equipment needed within a 200-kilometer radius.

Nantong's scale of shipbuilding and offshore engineering equipment accounts for about 1/10 and 1/4 of the country respectively.

In 2024, the shipbuilding and offshore engineering equipment industry chain was selected as one of the top 100 quality-strengthening chain projects in the country.

Nantong is striving to build the "Offshore Equipment Capital," "Advanced Material Blue Sea," and "New Energy Green Island."
