SS Erhang Changqing pile driving vessel, built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry and invested by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., was delivered in Qidong on Sunday, marking a new breakthrough for China in the field of marine engineering equipment manufacturing.

Measuring 130.5 meters long, 40.8 meters wide, and 8.4 meters deep with a pile frame height of 150 meters, this pile driving vessel can drive pile foundations with a maximum weight of 700 tons and a diameter of 7 meters, making it currently the highest pile driver in the world, with the largest lifting capacity, longest pile driving length, and strongest wind and wave resistance.

The pile driving vessel consists of a hull, pile frame, and oil cylinder. The ten-story-high oil cylinder weighs 385 tons with a diameter of nearly 2 meters and a total length of 28 meters, making it the world's largest pile driving vessel oil cylinder.

According to Yang Xiuli, Deputy Chief Engineer of CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., the oil cylinder is like the heart of a pile driving ship. They have developed this key component to ensure that China can independently control the localization and core technology of super large and ultra long oil cylinders.

This ship is more environmentally friendly and intelligent in design and use. During pile driving, it can monitor safety and operation processes in real-time, and automatically generate construction reports.

Automatic data recording can ensure the establishment of a large database of related information such as geological data, pile parameters, and pile sinking records, enabling it to achieve centimeter level positioning operations in deep and open seas, making it a "sea anchor" to the true sense of the word.

The ship will be applied to the construction of large bridges and offshore wind power in China, further consolidating China's leading position in the global ocean engineering market.
