East China’s Jiangsu province will organize and implement a new round of high-level hospital construction in 2026 in a bid to attract and train more top medical talents and improve the ability to diagnose and treat critical diseases, according to a provincial health work conference held on Thursday.

In the meantime, Jiangsu will strengthen the construction of rural regional medical and health centers by installing 60 functional centers such as rehabilitation pain, digestive endoscopy, and hemodialysis centers and 80 grassroots chronic disease screening and prevention centers within the year. Jiangsu will also provide free pit and fissure sealants for 90,000 eligible children and free pneumonia vaccines for 300,000 eligible and voluntary elderly people aged 65-85.
