We are thrilled to launch "inJiangsu" - Jiangsu's multi-lingual international service portal providing a full range of information and services to foreigners living, working, studying, travelling or interested in China's Jiangsu province. With official policy interpretation, operation guides and service docking ports, "inJiangsu" will create a one-stop comprehensive service platform.

Based in Jiangsu, radiating across China, and looking out to the world, "inJiangsu" is not only a comprehensive panoramic window showcasing Jiangsu, but also an observatory for discovering opportunities in China. It will highlight the best of Jiangsu and tell authentic Chinese stories to the world.

Q: What kind of products does "inJiangsu" provide?

A: Run by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation's Jiangsu International Communication Center, "inJiangsu" is the name of multiple digital products including a multilingual website, an app in multiple languages, and a matrix of social media accounts on various overseas platforms. These products are genetically mobile, visual, service-oriented, and smart.

Our main product, the website, aims to provide a one-stop portal for foreigners and expatriates to explore everything in Jiangsu. It has launched its English, Italian and French versions, with services in other languages coming soon. The website features a wealth of sections:

Jiangsu - Access all 13 cities and 95 county-level administrative divisions (including county-level cities and districts) with one click, and learn about Jiangsu's interactions with its sister cities and friends around the world.

China - Nationwide news that you won't want to miss.

Business - Information on economic and industrial development, and showcases of foreign investment cooperation and industrial parks.

Video - Rich audiovisual content and IPs on our history, culture, society, and entertainment.

Lifestyle - Encompassing local experience in culture, tourism, entertainment, and health.

Services - Latest and official policy interpretation, operational guides, and direct links to public service portals.

Education - Information and services for foreign students, including international education news, introductions to universities and colleges, and updates on international schools.

Q: Which aspects of Jiangsu do you most want users to discover?

A: The saying goes, "A thousand readers have a thousand Hamlets in their hearts." Therefore, I would say that we are showcasing everything as comprehensively as possible, and the more you learn, the better.

Jiangsu is an important yet somewhat low-profile province. In 2023, Jiangsu achieved many national top rankings. To name a few - high-quality development in manufacturing, integration of information technology and industrialization, foreign investment cooperation, exports of the "new trio" - namely electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products, business environment, technology and invention, the number of international sister cities, and our quality of education ... The list goes on and on.

We want to present Jiangsu as a province rich in historical and cultural heritage and abundant in natural resources. Our province is vibrant and fresh, warm and hospitable, and brimming with opportunities.

Behind our products is the deep connection between the operational team and Jiangsu's foreign-related departments such as the Provincial Department of Commerce, the Foreign Affairs Office, the Entry-Exit Border Inspection, as well as enterprises, colleges and universities, and resources shared by 64 county-level media centers across the province.

Q: In the name, what does the preposition "in" convey?

A: Apart from indicating that "inJiangsu" is rooted in Jiangsu province, for international users "in" conveys a sense of inclusiveness, involvement, and local presence, making it feel as though, no matter where they are in the world, they are stepping onto the land of Jiangsu.

For expatriates coming to reside in Jiangsu, using our information will provide them with insider experience, making their lives here as convenient and barrier-free as the lives of locals.

Moreover, it indicates that "inJiangsu" is interesting, interactive, international, intelligent, and hopefully, always in-style.

Please remember our birth date, May 20, on which the Jiangsu Development Summit is held every two to three years. It is also the date for Chinese young folks to celebrate love and make confession, as its pronunciation in Chinese is close to "I love you" (wo ai ni).
